The National Association of Local Government Education Secretaries held her 28th Annual Conference themed “LGEAs Stability for Efficiency and Effectiveness in Basic Education Service Delivery in Nigeria” at Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board, Multipurpose Hall, Maryland, Ikeja.
Delivering the welcome address, the Executive Chairman, LASUBEB, Hon. Wahab Alawiye-King noted that education is the cornerstone of development, adding that it is the basis of literacy and technological advancement in the country.
He called for a collaborative and partnership approach to achieve the tasks and conquer challenges facing the basic education sector. “The collaborative effort would assist in compilation of statistics, adequate planning, monitoring and supervision for efficient and effective service delivery in basic education” he said.
Dr. Hassan Sule, President, National Association of Education Secretaries of Nigeria (NAESN) stated that the gathering is to bring all education secretaries from all states in the country together to strategize on the approach to implement basic education policies.
He furthered that the goal of grassroot managers is to ensure that every child has access to basic education and also make sure learning environment is conducive for learning.
