LASUBEB commissions Blocks of Classrooms with Toilets and Headteachers' Offices executed by the Office of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) led by Her Excellency, Princess Adejoke Orelope Adefulire today at the following schools:
1.Wesley Primary School, Oshodi-Isolo
2. Methodist Primary School, Oshodi-Isolo.
3. St. John Catholic Primary School 4. Jinadu Anglican Primary School, Ikoyi.
The ultra-modern edifices handed over to the Board, were facilitated by the Chairman, Board of Directors, Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, Mr Ayodeji Ariyo Gbeleyi.
Today, the Lagos State Commissioner of Education, Mrs. Folashade Adefisayo with the Executive Chairman LASUBEB, Hon.Wahab Alawiye - King commissioned a block of 10 Classrooms, with offices, Toilets and furniture at Ojodu Primary School, Ojodu donated by RCCG, Lagos Province 40.
Recall that the old school building which comprised of 3 blocks of 18 Classrooms was attacked and razed during the aftermath of the End Sars Protest in 2020.
The Executive Chairman, Lagos SUBEB, Hon. Wahab Alawiye- King flanked by High Chief Dr. (Mrs) Winifred Awosika, government functionaries and members of VAWA at the official handover of a fully equipped vocational centre, music room and playground with modern instruments and facilities in tune with the pupils’ special needs donated by the Victor and Winifred Awosika Foundation (VAWA) to the pupils of Maryland Primary School (inclusive unit), Ikeja.
The EKOEXCEL programme has been honoured at the 18th Annual Titans of Tech Awards which was held in Lagos this past weekend. The programme was crowned as the Most Innovative Digital Learning Platform of The Year.
Titans of Technology Awards popularly called Nigeria’s Tech Industry Grammy is designed to celebrate Hi-tech most important movers and shakers; pioneers, Innovators, men, women, organisations and institutions who blazed the trail and used ICT to improve the way of life in our society.
Present to receive the award was, LASUBEB Chair, Hon. Alawiye-King and other top members of the Board, supported by key EKOEXCEL support staff from NewGlobe.
While receiving the award, the Chairman said “I am honoured to receive this award on behalf of Mr. Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, this shows that his investment in the basic education sector is actually yielding positive results”.

At the grandfinale of the Association of Primary School Headteachers of Nigeria ( AOPSHON) Annual Seminar and send forth ceremony organized in celebration of State Executive Council Officers held at the N.U.T Pavillion, Agindigbi, Ikeja.
The Executive Chairman LASUBEB, Hon.Wahab Alawiye-King paid glowing tribute to the Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his contribution to the Education Sector.
He said, "Mr. Governor is very much passionate about the welfare, well-being and wellness of teachers in the state".
He reiterated that the purpose of the celebration is to encourage, motivate and inspire the service providers on their conscientious delivery of service.
His word "we do not see you as Teachers or Headteachers, we see you as caregivers and most importantly burden bearers, l want to implore you to continue to give your best in service delivery".
He urged them not to relent on their oars and also prayed for them that God will continue to lessen their burden.
LASUBEB celebrated pupils who represented the Board and emerged winners at the recently held exhibition in commemoration of the Young African Industrialist Week organized by Lagos State Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Cooperatives at Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa, Ikeja.
Winners at the exhibition competition were National Orthopedic Special School, Igbobi emerged 1st Position, Art and Craft Vocational Centre, Agege emerged 2nd Position, whilst Wesley Special School I&II took the third position.

The Acting Chairman, FCT Universal Basic Education Board (UBEB), Dr. Sule Al-Hassan led other top functionaries of UBEB on a Knowledge/Experience Sharing and Peer Review tour to Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board.
The four-day visit is to understudy basic education programmes, projects and educational facilities in Lagos state, compare notes and exchange ideas with LASUBEB in order to achieve greater outcomes in the provision of national basic education services in both areas.
As part of the activities, the Executive Chairman, LASUBEB, Hon. Wahab Alawiye-King, Board Members and the delegates of UBEB visited some state and federal government intervention projects across the State.
To encourage farming among pupils, the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board organized an exhibition of farm and poultry products funded under the Y2018 Agricultural Education Training Programme (AETP).

The Board received a delegation of the House of Representatives Committee on Basic Education & Services, Abuja, led by the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Prof. Julius Ihonvbere, OON.
