He reiterated that the purpose of the celebration is to encourage, motivate and inspire the service providers on their conscientious delivery of service. His word "we do not see you as Teachers or Headteachers, we see you as caregivers and most importantly burden bearers, l want to implore you to continue to give your best in service delivery". He urged them not to relent on their oars and also prayed for them that God will continue to lessen their burden.

To further enhance effective monitoring of teaching and learning activities in public primary schools, LASUBEB distributed Mini-buses, Digital Monitoring devices and Printers to Basic Education Quality Assurance Officers across LGEAs in the state.

The Executive Chairman LASUBEB, Hon. Wahab Alawiye - King bagged an award on Good Governance in Public Service at the Gazelle News Annual Award Ceremony / Public Lecture. Themed: Advocacy as a Tool for Eradicating Bullying, Cultism, Drug Abuse and other Anti - Social Vices in Schools in recognition of his giant strides in the advancement of basic education in Lagos State.

LASUBEB celebrated pupils who represented the Board and emerged winners at the recently held exhibition in commemoration of the Young African Industrialist Week organized by Lagos State Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Cooperatives at Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa, Ikeja. Winners at the exhibition competition were National Orthopedic Special School, Igbobi emerged 1st Position, Art and Craft Vocational Centre, Agege emerged 2nd Position, whilst Wesley Special School I&II took the third position. The Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board in partnership with Artswax Communications launched EKO POEMS: An anthology of Nursery Rhymes on Thursday, 5th August, 2021. Over 300 hundred pupils of the state primary schools participated in the poetry competition at the end of which 63 finalist poems were selected and documented into a book for future reference after the preliminaries.

To maintain effective and efficient administration of the Board, the Executive Chairman, Board Members and management staff in Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board joined other states of the Federation at the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria, Topo, Badagry for a workshop on 'Enhancing Quality Leadership and Performance Improvement in Public Service'.

To encourage farming among pupils, the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board organized an exhibition of farm and poultry products funded under the Y2018 Agricultural Education Training Programme (AETP). The Executive Chairman LASUBEB, Hon. Wahab Alawiye-King ably represented by Dr. Saheed Ibikunle, a Board member, explained that the school farming programme, funded by the Universal Basic Education Commission, is not just a space for growing food items but also learning which has largely taken basic education to new heights.

To ensure transparency and accountability, the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board organized a retreat on Data Driven Allocation of Education Resources and Finance for Board Members, Management Staff and Stakeholders.

The Board received a delegation of the House of Representatives Committee on Basic Education & Services, Abuja, led by the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Prof. Julius Ihonvbere, OON. The Committee are in Lagos State to conduct legislative oversight functions on UBEC funded projects between 2010-2020.
