LASUBEB REWARDS OUTSTANDING TEACHING AND NON TEACHING STAFF

The Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board on Thursday, 10th February, 2022, rewarded outstanding teaching and non-teaching staff with various home appliances. The Merit Award was held at the Board's Multi-Purpose Hall, Maryland, Ikeja. The awardees comprised of staff drawn from the Headquarters, LGEAs and Primary Schools.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Head of Service, Mr. Muri Okunola, ably repesented by Mrs Anike Adekanye, TG/PS District II noted that the essence of the gathering is to recognize those who have served the state diligently and conscientiously. He appreciated Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the unwavering commitment to the motivation, welfare and well-being of employees. He commended the Board for her giant strides towards the development of basic education in the state.

Muri-Okunola congratulated the awardees and urged them not to rest on their oars but continue to exhibit high sense of responsibility, commitment and unalloyed loyalty in the discharge of their duties.

Hon. Wahab Alawiye-King, Executive Chairman LASUBEB, stated that the 66 awardees were selected based on merit, after a thorough written and oral screening process. “It is a day of the acronym R.A.C.E, we are here to Recognize, Appreciate, Commend and Encourage them to continue to do their best" the SUBEB Chair said.

Awardees include - Best Headteacher: Lawson Margret, Best Assistant Headteacher: Owolewa Musiliu, Best Teacher: Ogunbowale Olasunkanmi and Best Pupil: Abass Malik amongst others. Prizes won included refrigerators, Smart TV, microwaves, water dispenser amongst others.
